1. Watch Las Vegas street art
Beautiful murals and other tags can be found in various neighborhoods. Take a bus or taxi to District 18b, the Arts District, or alternatively to the eastside of downtown Las Vegas.
Be surprised by the tranquility that is present in these neighborhoods compared to the bustle of the Strip or Freemont Street. In these neighborhoods you will find the coolest street art. Where in east downtown you mainly see murals from the Life is Beautiful Festival, in the Arts District you will mainly find murals and tags in a real American setting.
2. The Mob Museum
The Mob Museum is an interactive, modern museum in downtown Las Vegas. In the museum you will learn about the rise and fall of the mafia and the history of Las Vegas. The museum is located in a building that has historical value for the fight against the mafia. Trials against the mafia also took place in this building.
In addition, in this museum you can listen in on a police tap, take a seat on the electric chair, learn how to cheat with cards or record your own confession on film. This is just a sampling of what there is to experience. It is a museum of time where even the recent corruption in fifa is reflected!
3. Chilling in ‘The Park’
Don’t feel like bells and whistles on the Strip? Then you can go to The Park between Park MGM & New York – New York. A completely different environment but you are still close to the Strip. Unlike the Strip, it is the place where you can find chairs to sit and relax for a while. In The Park, a lot of work is done with water, which provides a pleasant cooling on a hot day.
The Beerhaus is located at The Park. Besides that you can enjoy 10 local beers from Las Vegas here, you can play shuffleboard, table tennis or a game of Jenga! Don’t want to move? Then let yourself be pampered with a massage, salt cave, bubble bath or sauna. Take that moment to reminisce about the amazing experiences you’ve had so far during your stay in Las Vegas. 4. Visit Container Park in Downtown Las Vegas
Did you take your kids to Vegas? Then you can let them play freely here. As the name suggests, Container Park is made up of containers. A huge unique tree house has been built in the middle. The biggest supervisors were thought of when building the tree house. So you can also go up together with your children. In container park you will mainly find smaller tents of starting entrepreneurs.
Combine a visit to the Container Park with eating at Glutton or Carson Kitchen. At Glutton you will discover the new American cuisine where sharing food takes center stage. It is recommended to finish with a piece of homemade banana bread. At Carson Kitchen they serve a delicious homemade bacon jam. You must have tasted that!
5. Explore the environment
Las Vegas was built in the desert, but nearby are the most beautiful natural areas and the most special buildings. For example, close to Las Vegas are the Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. Visit these destinations organized in a pink jeep or rent a special means of transport yourself.
Be enchanted by the surroundings that Las Vegas has to offer. If you don’t want to be in a car for long, have yourself picked up in the morning and taken to the airport for a helicopter flight through the Grand Canyon. On the way to the Grand Canyon you will fly over the Hoover Dam and you can see the white limestone deposits of the reservoir. The white limestone deposits show that the water level of the reservoir has been falling since the 1980s.
