Spending Halloween in The Catacombs of Paris, the world’s largest cemetery.
Are you a fan of Halloween? And do you want an unforgettable experience?
Airbnb now offers daredevils a one-time opportunity to spend a night in the world’s largest cemetery. Namely in the Catacombs of Paris, where the ancient remains of six to seven million Parisians have been laid to rest.
Two winners will spend their Halloween night here, earning the honor of being the first people ever to wake up in the Paris catacombs.

Paris Catacombs
Half a million tourists visit the Catacombs of Paris every year, but never before have people been allowed to actually stay overnight. This initiative stems from a partnership that Airbnb has entered into with the Catacombs of Paris, helping to finance the restoration that the catacombs has been waiting for some time.
Halloween
During Halloween night on October 31, the winners will be given a private tour of the two-kilometer-long system of corridors, filled with the skulls and bones of the millions of Parisians buried here over the centuries. The tour is followed by a culinary snack, of course accompanied by a small chamber orchestra that has eerie violin music in its repertoire for the occasion. Of course, a bedtime story should not be missing: an expert will close the night with the legends that have been circulating about the catacombs for many years.
Make a chance
For a chance to win an overnight stay in this unique accommodation, visit the dedicated Paris Catacombs page on Airbnb by October 20 at 11:59 PM, and motivate why you would like to spend the night here.

A Night At
Airbnb’s ‘A Night At’ campaign is an initiative to turn inaccessible places around the world into one-off accommodations. Previous locations have included a converted KLM plane at Schiphol, a ski jump in Norway, an IKEA store in Australia and a Waterstones bookstore in the heart of London.
Nicolas Ferrary, country manager for Airbnb France, sees the participants of the ‘A Night At’ as the textbook example for travelers who are always looking for authentic experiences: “After spending the night in a ski lift in Courchevel at an altitude of 2700 meters above the ground, Airbnb will take you to a depth of 20 meters below Paris this year! Few places will deliver a more authentic Halloween experience than our overnight stay in the Catacombs of Paris.”

About the catacombs
The Catacombs of Paris form an underground labyrinth twenty meters below the French capital. In the past these tunnels served as limestone quarries, but over time this turned into a repository for human remains as the graveyards became overcrowded. The catacombs are home to such celebrities as Francois Rabelais, Jean de la Fontaine, Charles Perrault, Lavoisier, and Robespierre.
