A brand new attraction opened in London: the world’s tallest and longest slide! The slide is no less than 178 meters long and about 80 meters high. The ride down only takes 40 seconds (with an average speed of 6 meters per second) and you come across about 12 turns. There is also a bend that looks suspiciously like some kind of corkscrew. The stairs up will probably take a little more time than the way back down.
Belgian design
The slide was designed by the Belgian Carsten Höller and will be integrated into the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower. This tower was designed by artist Anish Kapoor for the Olympic Games in 2012. In order to give the tower a new purpose, it was decided to build a slide around it. Currently, the impressive descent is still under construction, but you can already buy a ticket.
The price of an e-ticket costs about 10 pounds for an adult and 12 pounds at the box office. You can already buy the tickets here. Do you dare to take a ride down this slide?
