A beautiful ski area that is nicely high and therefore snow-sure, a bustling village with top après-ski and nice shops: Ischgl has it all. And there is more, because if you can also be culinary spoiled somewhere in a ski area, it is in Ischgl. From cozy mountain huts for a cheese fondue in the evening to a star restaurant. The 4 culinary hotspots of Ischgl at a glance.
1. Vider Alp
The Vider Alp is located on the mountain, centrally located in the ski area of Ischgl. At noon you can have lunch here and of course you can also relax with tea or heisse chocolate between skiing. On two days a week (Monday and Thursday, when you can also toboggan) this restaurant is also open in the evening. You then take the Silvrettabahn to the Idalp and then it is a short walk. On these evenings you can enjoy a nice dinner in a cozy mountain hut. Local specialties are mainly served and we went for the fondue: cheese fondue and fondue with stock and meat. A nice Austrian music in the background, a good glass of wine and you have a great evening here.

2. Restaurant Höllboden
Bergrestaurant Höllboden is highly recommended if you want to take the time to have a nice lunch on the slopes. It is a fairly new restaurant (completely renovated a few years ago) and a nice place to see. You will find the Austrian cosiness with lots of wood and windows, but in a stylish way. Location wise it is also an ideal lunch spot because you are only 1 lift away from the central center of Ischgl, the Idalp. And the food is also very good. No self-service, but a nice, relaxed lunch with delicious dishes.

3. Restaurant Pardorama
Restaurant Pardorama is of course a picture to see. It is located at the top of the Pardatschgratbahn and you have a fantastic view there – especially if you walk all the way to the top. From the outside, the modern architectural style may not seem to fit in with the landscape, but that’s no problem here in Ischgl. Once you’re inside, it doesn’t really matter which table you can get your hands on, because all the walls are made of glass, so everyone can see outside. It may not be the cheapest lunch you will eat in Ischgl, but take your time, enjoy the view, bring good company and it will be totally worth it. Reservations are a good idea, because Pardorama is a popular place!

4. The Paznaunerstube in Trofana Royal
Saved the best for last. It really doesn’t get any better than the Paznaunerstube in the Trofana Royal hotel. It is not only the best restaurant in Ischgl, it is also the best restaurant in all of Tyrol because the Paznaunerstube has three Gault Millau chef’s hats and a coveted Michelin star. What chef Martin Sieberer manages to put on the table is phenomenal and where eating in a star restaurant is already an unforgettable experience, it becomes even more special if you have skied down an hour before.
Chef Sieberer really makes it a fantastic evening. The appetizers alone make a deep impression, so you haven’t even started on the menu yet. From refreshing champagne ice cream in the shape of a scallop shell to the tastiest mushroom risotto I’ve ever eaten. Foie gras in the shape of a cherry, a piece of beef that melts on your tongue and then the perfect glass of wine. And as if it wasn’t enough, after dessert a bonbon cart comes to the table where you can fill your own bowl. Heaven!
Wine lovers should also take a look at the wine cellar here, as more than 25,000 treasures lie underground waiting to be opened.
