Córdoba is a city where you can enjoy delicious food. In Córdoba you will still find many authentic tapas bars and restaurants where they serve many local specialties that originated in Córdoba. Think of the salmorejo cordobés or berenjenas fritas con miel de caña. In addition, there is also a wide range of good international restaurants in Córdoba. The food is also a lot cheaper than in slightly more touristy cities such as Málaga or Seville. Are you going to Córdoba soon? Read on for my top tips for finding good food in Córdoba!

Restaurante Asador El Choto

Restaurante Asador El Choto in Córdoba

Restaurante Asador El Choto is a cozy local restaurant that we actually stumbled upon by chance, because this was one of the few restaurants in the old center that was open around 5:30 pm (most restaurants close their kitchen between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm ). The owner was super friendly and passionate about the local specialties. Of course we had to try the salmorejo cordobés (an Andalusian version of gazpacho) and the berenjenas fritas con miel de caña (fried eggplant with sugar cane syrup). These are two dishes that come from Córdoba and both tasted delicious. I would have preferred to lick out the bowl of the salmorejo. We also tasted the homemade croquettes and the four-cheese risotto and these dishes also tasted fantastic.

Bodegas Mezquita (Corregidor)

Bodegas Mezquita Corregidor

Bodegas Mezquita has several branches around the Mezquita in the old center of Córdoba. On the menu you will find a wide range of tapas and other typical Andalusian dishes. We chose Bodegas Mezquita Corregidor with a cozy courtyard. We tasted, among other things, the traditional salmorejo cordobés and the salmorejo blanco, a white counterpart made from almonds. The patatas bravas and the three types of homemade croquettes also tasted delicious. For dessert we chose a mix of all desserts, including the homemade pastel cordobés and a number of other local pastries. Still, the favorite was the fresh orange with olive oil, sugar and cinnamon. Sounds special, but it was really fantastic.

Mercado Victoria

Can’t choose what to eat in Córdoba? Then the Mercado Victoria is the perfect place for your lunch or dinner. This is the largest food market in Córdoba and you can really taste everything here. From traditional tapas to Italian delicacies and from Argentinian empanadas to fresh fish specialties. You can collect your food from the various stands and then eat it at one of the tables in the market. There is also a large terrace on both sides of the market where you can eat outside. In the evening there are often live performances and the atmosphere is very cozy. You will find the Mercado Victoria in the park Jardines de la Victoria.

Bocaito Andalusi

Bocaito Andalusi is one of the stands in the Mercado Victoria and we had such a good meal here that this small restaurant deserves a separate mention in my opinion. The owner is super friendly and put together a delicious plate of the most delicious Moroccan mezze for us. When we ran out of pita bread and I wanted to buy more, he made us new ones for free and insisted we didn’t have to pay for them. We also tasted the homemade couscous with vegetables and it was also delicious.

Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar

The best sushi in Córdoba can be found at Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar. We chose to be surprised by the chef and were served a fantastic platter full of sushi. Everything was super fresh and in addition to the traditional sushi and sashimi, many original combinations were also made. The fried sushi in particular was surprisingly delicious. We also ordered a bowl of noodles and it also tasted good. It is not very cheap, but Sibuya is definitely recommended if you want to eat good sushi in Córdoba.

NOOR

Noor Restaurant
Noor Restaurant

NOOR is without a doubt the best restaurant in Córdoba. This restaurant has two Michelin stars and was founded by the famous chef Paco Morales. In 2016 he returned to his hometown of Córdoba and started NOOR there, where you get to know modern Andalusian cuisine in a unique way. Unfortunately we haven’t been here ourselves (it’s not necessarily an ideal restaurant if you’re traveling with a toddler and baby), but this article on the best restaurants in Córdoba wouldn’t be complete without NOOR. Here you take a seat at a table around the open kitchen and are served small works of art of dishes throughout the evening. Do you have something to celebrate or are you looking for a special restaurant with the best food in Córdoba? Then NOOR is the perfect place.

More tips for Cordoba

In addition to good food, you can do much more in Córdoba. There are many special sights, such as the Mezquita and the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, and you will find Roman, Moorish and Christian influences. Córdoba is the perfect destination for a day trip from, for example, Málaga or Seville, but it is also a wonderful city for a city trip of a few days.
