#1 Alcudia
One of my favorite places to stay in Mallorca is the town of Alcúdia. This historic town has an attractive old center with many cozy terraces and delicious tapas. Here it immediately felt like the real Spain to me. Due to its convenient location, Alcúdia is also the perfect base to discover the rest of Mallorca. Alcúdia is close to Cap de Formentor, but you can also be in the capital Palma de Mallorca within 45 minutes. In addition, around Alcúdia you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, such as Playa de Muro.

#2 Port d’Alcúdia
The associated seaside resort of Port d’Alcúdia is right on the beach. This is a popular place to stay for families. There are many fine resorts and apartments and it is an ideal location for a beach holiday. The beach of Alcúdia continues into Playa de Muro and is over 6 kilometers long. It is wonderfully sheltered between the dunes and there is also a beautiful large pier in the sea. Because the sea slopes gently and the water remains shallow for a long time, this beach is also very suitable for small children. From Port d’Alcúdia you are also in Alcúdia itself. For a nice walk you can go to the nearby S’Albufera Natural Park.

#3 Port de Pollenca
In the north of Mallorca you will also find the coastal town of Port de Pollença. This old fishing village is smaller and quieter than Port d’Alcúdia. Here you will also find a beautiful beach and many trendy accommodations. Moreover, Port de Pollença is close to Cap de Formentor, which is one of the most beautiful natural areas of Mallorca. You can even rent bikes in Port de Pollença to visit Cap de Formentor by bike, ideal in high season when the road is closed to cars.

#4 C’an Picafort
Another nice seaside resort is C’an Picafort. This is even the oldest seaside resort in all of Mallorca. It is a typical Spanish town with a pleasant harbor and close to the popular beach Playa de Muro. C’an Picafort is also close to the beautiful S’Albufera Natural Park, where you can go hiking.

- Apartamentos Ses Roquetes. Spacious apartments 1 minute walk from the beach. Includes living-dining room, extensive kitchenette and private pool.
- Hostal Blanca. This fine accommodation with bright and modern rooms is a 30-meter walk from the beach.
- Hotel Sa Roqueta Can Picafort. Nice hotel with spacious rooms with balcony one minute walk from the beach.
#5 Soller
The town of Sóller is located in the interior of Mallorca, a short half hour drive from the capital Palma de Mallorca. Sóller is surrounded by the beautiful Tramuntana Mountains and is a perfect base if you want to go cycling or hiking in Mallorca. This cozy and authentic town is also completely surrounded by orange groves. So be sure to settle down on one of the cozy terraces on the square near the church and enjoy the best orange juice in Mallorca.

- Hotel Ca’l Bisbe. Beautiful hotel with outdoor pool and rooms with mountain views. The hotel also has a very good restaurant.
- Finca Cas Sant. Lovely finca between the orange trees with two outdoor swimming pools and a lovely garden.
#6 Port de Soller
The associated port of Sóller is Port de Sóller. You can enjoy a lovely walk along the boulevard, but you are also in the mountains in no time. In this small seaside resort you will find several beautiful beaches, an attractive marina, fine restaurants and nice shops. It is a perfect destination if you want to combine a beach holiday with nature and outdoor activities. Moreover, Sóller is easy to reach from Port de Sóller with the unique historic wooden train that runs between these places.
Tips for accommodations in Port de Sóller
- Agroturismo Muleta de Ca S’hereu. Fantastic authentic hotel between the olive groves. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet, while you are only 1.5 kilometers from Port de Soller.
- Lilly Apartments. Apartments one minute walk from the beach with spectacular views of the sea or of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.
- FERGUS Style Soller Beach. Modern hotel in the port of Port de Sóller with spacious rooms and fantastic sea views.
#7 Valldemossa
Valldemossa is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric villages in Mallorca and a fantastic place to spend the night during your holiday in Mallorca. The historic center is beautiful and the village is beautifully situated between the green mountains. In the summer months it can get quite busy during the day in Valldemossa. That is why it is very nice to spend the night here. You can go out during the day and early in the morning and later in the day you can enjoy Valldemossa in peace.

#8 Cala d’Or
Cala d’Or means the good bay and this seaside resort lives up to its name. Here you will find the most beautiful bays of Mallorca. For example, visit the beautiful Cala Esmeralda or Cala Ferrera. In Cala D’or you will find a large number of fine and very affordable hotels with a swimming pool within walking distance of the various beaches. The nature park Parc Natural de Mondragó and the caves of Drach are also close to Cala D’Or. If you mainly go for the beautiful beaches and bays, then this is a perfect place to stay in Mallorca.

- Agritourism Can Bessol. An authentic agroturismo in a green oasis 10 minutes drive from Cala D’Or. Including outdoor swimming pool and a lovely garden. The rooms are very spacious and an extensive breakfast is served every day with fresh local products.
#9 Cala Millor
One of the oldest seaside resorts in Mallorca is the former fishing village of Cala Millor. This is still a perfect place for a sun and beach holiday in Mallorca. In addition to beautiful beaches and a clear blue sea, you will find a pleasant boulevard and an attractive center with many nice shops.

#10 Es Trenc
Would you rather spend the night on the largest beach in Mallorca? Then choose Es Trenc, also known as Platja des Trenc. This beach is located on the south coast of the island. The sandy beach is over two kilometers long and is often compared to the beaches of the Caribbean for its pearly white sand and clear water. The beach is part of the Es Trenc-Salobrar de Campos nature reserve. You will find a number of nice beach bars and you can spend the night right on the beach. Es Trenc is the perfect place for a beach holiday in Mallorca.

Are you looking for a little more entertainment? Then choose a stay in the capital Palma de Mallorca. Here you will find the largest selection of restaurants, shops and attractions. Even if you don’t have a car at your disposal, a stay in Palma is the best option. From Palma you can easily make a number of day trips to other beautiful places in Mallorca.

#12 Can Pastilla
There are several seaside resorts around the capital Palma de Mallorca. A number of these are real party hubs, where young people party until the wee hours. Are you not waiting for this during your holiday in Mallorca? Then skip Magaluf and s’Arenal. A seaside resort near Palma de Mallorca that, at least in the low season, is highly recommended is Ca’n Pastilla. We stayed here for a few days and were pleasantly surprised by the wide range of fine accommodations, good restaurants, a beautiful and long sandy beach and especially by the perfect location. You are right on the beach, but you are in Palma in fifteen minutes, in ten minutes at the airport and in five minutes at the gigantic shopping center FAN Mallorca Shopping. In Ca’n Pastilla you will also find the Aquarium of Mallorca.

- Helios Mallorca Hotel & Apartments. Luxury hotel with indoor and outdoor pool, a two-minute walk from the beach. We stayed here for a few days in an apartment in the annex and can highly recommend it.
- Hotel Las Arenas. Nice hotel within walking distance of the beach. Including panoramic terrace and infinity pool with sea view.
#13 The interior of Mallorca
Looking for a little more peace? In the interior of Mallorca you will find the most fantastic accommodations. From luxury hotels to attractive agroturismos with beautiful swimming pools in a green environment. Most accommodations are located in the beautiful valleys of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Here you really relax. Inland is a perfect place to stay in Mallorca if you are visiting this island as a couple.
Tips for accommodations in the interior of Mallorca
- Finca Hotel Son Pont. A beautiful hotel in a typical Mallorcan country house with outdoor swimming pool, located in the green valley of Puigpunyent. The rooms are wonderfully spacious and have a beautiful view of the Tramuntana Mountains.
